Toledo Rockets vs. Ball State CardinalsWebsite Gambling Article by - - Nov 13, 2007 Brought to you by Who2beton.com The MAC kicks-off Week 12 on the college football gridiron as the Tom Amstutz coached Toledo Rockets invade Muncie to take on the Cardinals of Ball State. The winner of this game has a chance to secure one of the three Bowl game slots the MAC has been allotted. Toledo’s season started off very poor and it looked as if they were headed towards back-to-back losing campaigns for the first time under the watchful eye of Head Coach Tom Amstutz. However, his club regrouped after losing its fifth game in seven tries, and they enter tonight’s contest winners of three in a row. Their latest victory came 10 days ago when the Rockets upended the Eastern Michigan Eagles by a 52-28 count. Much of the teams’ success can be attributed directly to the improved play of their offense. The Rockets have averaged 55 PPG throughout their 3-game winning streak, and it should find success tonight once again versus a Ball State defense that’s surrendering 435 total YPG to go along with 28 PPG. Ball State has only played one MAC game over the last month of play since they decided to schedule Western Kentucky on Homecoming and back-to-back road affairs at Illinois and Indiana. They to have had 10 days to prepare for this contest, so it’s safe to say Head Coach Brady Hoke and his staff will have their men ready to go this evening. Oddsmakers opened up the home team as 7-point favorites in this spot, but the ‘Total’ hasn’t been released at the time of this writing. Ball State went into the “Glass Bowl” last season and defeated the Rockets 20-17 as 4-point road dogs. That ATS win added to the Cardinals current streak over Toledo improving the mark to 5-2 ATS the L/7 match-ups. However, they were a dog in each of those seven meetings, and now find themselves in the home chalk role that’s seen them go a poor 1-2 ATS and SU in 2007. Toledo hopes to build on its winning streak, while BSU looks to get up off the mat after dropping a pair of games to Big 10 opponents. Tune your HDTV’s to ESPN2 at 7:30 ET for all the MAC fun!!!!
