Chicago Cubs vs. Florida MarlinsWebsite Gambling Article by - Mike Rose - Sep 27, 2007 Brought to you by Who2beton.com If anyone knows where the Chicago Cubs have gone the last couple nights… please please please contact your local authorities and let them know where to find these guys. They left Chicago on Sunday night off a 3-game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates, but haven’t been heard from since they touched down in Miami to take on the Marlins for a three game set. Their 3-game lead in the division has been shrunk to two games, but they were bailed out by the Brewers bullpen last night. Where are these guys? Kidding aside, the Cubbies have now lost nine straight to the Marlins after last nights 7-4 defeat, and must try to salvage some dignity this afternoon in the series’ season finale. “Sweet” Lou Piniella will hand the ball to Steve Trachsel in hope of him building off his last start vs. Houston where he gave up 7 hits and 2 ER’s in 5 innings of work. He is familiar with a bulk of the Marlines line-up since he pitched in the NL East for the Mets for a number of season. He’s 8-7 in his career vs. the Fish with a 4.07 ERA and 1.356 WHIP. Scott Olson has been through a very turbulent ’07 campaign with Florida this year, and this might be his last start ever in a teal and black uniform. He comes into this start sporting a 5.88 ERA and a poor 9-15 SU mark. His recent form hasn’t been of quality either with a 0-3 record and a bloated 7.50 ERA. He has had success against Chicago in his career, as the Marlins won two of the three games he started, but the Cubs have found their offensive stroke against lefties of late (.371 AVG). This is a very important game for the Cubs, but the Marlins have proven once again to be the ultimate pest. Will they snap their losing streak, or will Florida slam a dagger into the hearts of “Cubbie Nation” once again? Tune to your local broadcast early as this one’s set for a 4:05 ET first pitch…..
