Oklahoma Sooners vs. Tulsa Golden HurricaneWebsite Gambling Article by - Who2beton.com - Sep 21, 2007 Brought to you by Who2beton.com he Sooners hit the road for the first time this season carrying their #4 ranking right beside them. HC Bob Stoops’ club has gotten off to a fabulous start in ’07, and they’ll be looking to pick up their first road win of the season and impress the pollsters in the process. Oklahoma has simply pummeled its first three opponents this season, and something looked to be very right for this program after the very first week of the season when they piled on 79 points on the North Texas Mean Green. They followed that effort up with a 59-13 dismantling of the Miami Hurricanes, and put another 54 points on the board vs. Utah State last week. Scoring hasn’t been a problem for the Sooners, and neither has been keeping their opponents off the board. Through three games, OK has allowed a total of 26 points while piling up 184 of their own. Redshirt Freshman QB Sam Bradford is already amongst the Heisman talk, and JR WR Malcolm Kelly is hauling in the dividends having already caught 14 passes for 301 yards and 7 TDs. He’s on pace for 28 TD receptions, and that’s just insane!!! Tulsa is under new leadership these days, and the athletic department couldn’t have made a better hire than Todd Graham when looking to replace the departed Steve Kragthorpe. He completely turned around the Rice program in his first stint as a Head Coach last season, and got them to a Bowl game for the first time in 45 years. The Golden Hurricanes offense has really made waves to start the ’07 season. As a team, Tulsa has racked up 1,118 total yards in just two games and this is due in large part to the new wide open passing attack. SR QB Paul Smith has taken kindly to it, as he’s already passed for 761 yards and 8 TDs. Friday's game will mark the 23rd all-time meeting between the Sooners and Tulsa, with Oklahoma holding a 14-7-1 advantage in the series. The Sooners have won the last three encounters, including a 31-15 triumph in the most recent meeting in 2005 in Norman. The atmosphere will be electric and the scoreboard might explode, so tune into ESPN2 at 8:00 ET to see what transpires on the field.
