Texas Rangers vs. Minnesota TwinsWebsite Gambling Article by - Who2beton.com - Sep 18, 2007 Brought to you by Who2beton.com For all intensive purposes, both of these clubs seasons will be over on the 30th of September. That being said, it doesn’t mean that we won’t see some good baseball. Before last week, the Rangers were the hottest team in baseball winning 8 of their first 9 games in September. The main reason for their stellar play has been their hot bats. In their L/10 games, the Rangers have been mashing right-handers to the tune of a .303 batting average. Lefties haven’t had much success either, as the Ranger bats own a .282 average their L/10 as well. Needless to say, but Texas has been putting some monster run totals on the board this month. Carlos Silva has put forth a very workmanlike effort this season, and will most likely be brought back by the Minnesota front office since he’s a proven inning eater. The lengthy right-hander is 11-14 on the year, but he’s given Manager Gardenhire 182 innings and he’s yet to miss a start. His durability is fantastic, but his stuff hasn’t been that great the last month of the season. In fact, he comes into this start 1-1 with a 5.79 ERA his L/3 starts, and he’s given up 21 hits in only 14 innings of work. To make matters worse for Minny’s chances this evening, Silva is 0-1 with a 6.35 ERA in two starts against the Rangers this season. The Rangers Luis Mendoza is pretty much an unknown commodity having been called up in September, and making only one big league start in his career. He’s been used as a bullpen guy since, and comes into this start sporting a nifty 2.08 ERA. The Twins had won 4 of the 6 meetings this season up until last night, and have been very bad at home in Game 2 of a series off a loss (13-16). On the flipside, Texas is a solid 14-9 SU in Game 2 after picking up a victory in the series opener. Tune to your local telecast or the extra innings package on DirecTV to see which club continues its streak in the Game 2. SLAM YOUR MAN!!!
