Who will win the Dodgers Game

Website Gambling Article by - Mike Rose from Who2beton.com - Sep 8, 2007

LA Dodgers vs. Chicago Cubs (9/6)
brought to you by Who2beton.com

It was a magical night in Wrigleyville last night as the Chicago Cubs finally took a game from the Dodgers and gave their fans a much-needed victory. Ted Lilly allowed two runs over 6 2/3 innings, while Aramis Ramirez finally got off the HR schneid and hit a two-run homer in the 3rd. Mark DeRosa went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a number of other Cubs got into the scoring act in the 8th to break the game wide open. Chicago held its half-game lead over the Brewers and pushed St. Louis two back in the process.

The fourth and final game of the series pits the Dodgers Derek Lowe vs. the Cubs Jason Marquis. Lowe comes into this game off a brutal start in Petco that saw him get shellacked by San Diego for seven runs in only 4 1/3 innings of work. He's allowed five home runs in his last two starts, and that doesn't bode well for him today considering the Cubs might have rediscovered their HR stroke the night before.

Jason Marquis has been a tremendous gamer for the Cubs all season long. He's been an innings eater extraordinaire (165) and he's only surrendered 152 hits all season long. He's bounced back from a rocky 2006 admirably where he was torched on numerous occasions and left off the Cardinals playoff roster. There's not a chance he'll be left off the Cubs if indeed they do qualify for the second season. He's coming off a win over the Astros in which he gave up two runs on five hits over 6 2/3 innings. The right-hander also struck out five, and with the exception of a home run by Luke Scott, he had good command, only walking one.

The Cubs have been a very lucrative proposition whenever he's pitched in the friendly confines of Wrigley Field as they've posted a 12-3 SU mark to date. Oddsmakers believe this to be a very close affair as both pitchers opened as -105 favorites. With the Dodgers already taking two of the first three in this series and the fact that they're only 8-8 in all of Lowe's road starts this season, look for the Cubs to even up the series and head to Pittsburgh with their division lead still intact.

SLAM YOUR MAN!!!
