Keno tips and hints how to play and win Keno

Website Gambling Article by - - Nov 2, 2007 Keno Tips - Is online Keno a high stakes game?

Another great Keno quality is the fact that you can wager as little as $1. True, you can also bet several thousands of dollars, but if you want to have some fun and don't want to break the bank, then Keno just might be your game.

Is Keno a game of skill?

Primarily, Keno is a game of luck. Think bingo.

Is Keno a fast game?

Not exactly. In casinos, Keno is generally a pretty slow game. But that doesn't mean it isn't a fun game. It's a great way to take some time out from games that require a high skill level and quick process time or the deciphering of probabilities on the fly. Some people play Keno in between tables in order to relax a bit while still keeping their heads in the game. Video Keno is a little faster, as you do not have to wait between games.

Keno Tips - BIG BOARD KENO:

Was at one time called the Chinese Lottery. This is because the game originated in ancient China. Throughout the centuries this game has remained virtually unaltered. The only modifications, especial for modern casino play, lie in the amounts of money you can win, and in the use of combination tickets, called WAY TICKETS. In the Bird cage are 80 ping-pong balls, painted with numbers from 1 through 80. When the game is played, the bird cage rotates and spits out 20 of the 80 numbers. These 20 numbers constitute the result of that particular game, and a player picking any combination of the wins.

Keno:

Keno is one of the oldest games played in modern casinos and almost certainly the one that has undergone the least change. Keno is played in much the same fashion as most national and state lotteries around the world.

Keno is similar to Lotto. It was first introduced in China many years ago.

The game was brought to the USA in the mid 1800's by the Chinese immigrants who came to work in the mines and on the railroad.

It is a very popular game and very easy to play. It is an exciting pastime and, most importantly, it offers the possibility of winning large payouts on relatively small wagers.

There is also the video version of Keno. These are slots-like coin operated machines. It plays using the same principle with similar rules of the regular Keno, but you get the results much faster.

The Game Keno is strictly a numbers game and as in most number games there is no particular winning system. There is this thing called LUCK and that is the only system that is of any value. Out of a panel of 80 numbers 20 are chosen each game. They are chosen with ping pong balls in a special air driven device and posted on electronic panels throughout the Casino.

The player selects numbers on a Keno sheet by marking his selections and makes his bet with the clerk who verifies his card electronically. The player then sits back and waits for the numbers to be selected. If the numbers, selected by the player, appear on the board the player is paid according to a schedule of payment provided by all Casinos. The bet can be from one dollar up to the house limit, which may vary from place to place.

A player can win as little as one dollar to as much as 50,000 depending on how many numbers were selected and the amount wagered. This is a tough game to beat but as I said before it's great for a change of pace and you can sit during the game, and wait.

Keno Tips - HOW TO PLAY KENO:

You select a minimum of 4 but no more than 10 numbers between 1 and 80. Each selection is called a 'Spot', so if you select 10 numbers you are playing a 10 Spot game.

Minimum bets can be as low as 5 cents, although some Casinos only accept bets of $1 or more. The house's Keno brochures give you information about payoffs and various tickets you can play.
The amount of money you win is dependent upon the type of ticket you play and the number of 'spots' caught. You may play as many tickets as you wish. You could win as much as $50,000 on a $1 wager in some online Casinos.

KENO TIPS:

In Video Keno, always play from 3 to 8 spots, and play the maximum amount of coins allowed.

The computer uses different algorithms to randomly pick numbers. Play your numbers in patterns instead of spreading them out all over.

Playing Keno and Video Keno is like picking your lottery numbers. There isn't really much you can do to influence or predict the result. It is all down to luck.

In playing Keno remember the payouts and try to keep your winnings below what you have to pay taxes on. Usually play 9 numbers for a max payout of 2500 on a quarter bet but really try to get 8 out of 9 for a payout of 1175.

Keep your numbers the same regardless of what you pick until you hit large on them. You will always come out ahead at least once. When you are, even if it is only by $1, cash out and do it again!

LAS VEGAS KENO:

Probably the slowest game in any Casino: It's great for a change of pace and a rest but not for the action oriented. Games are about ten minutes apart, that is the regular Keno games, Video Keno you can play at your own speed.

HOW TO PLAY BIGBOARD KENO:

On any KENO game you can pick from one to 20 numbers.

The KENO ticket is about 5 inches square, and on the face of it is printed a grid of 80 numbers divided into what is called the TOP, containing 40 numbers, and the BOTTOM, containing the other 40 numbers.

You can mark these numbers by crosses, circles, ticks, or any manner as long as you make it clear.

Then you mark the AMOUNT you want to bet in the top right-hand corner of the ticket where it says amount.

Then below on the right-hand side, you write the total number of numbers you picked.

KENO also allows for so-called MULTIRACE tickets. You can play whatever numbers you pick on the same ticket for up to 20 consecutive games. You must play the same numbers for each game. With MULTIRACE tickets you must wait until the final game in your series of 20 games to collect any winnings. However, a new MULTIRACE variation called STRAY AND PLAY was introduced to allow players to play from 21 to 1,000 consecutive games without having to be present and with up to one year to collect winnings.

Straight Up:

There are four basic betting options offered by most casinos, of which the simplest and most common is the STRAIGHT UP ticket, commonly known as the REGULAR GAME ticket. For example: a popular STRAIGHT UP ticket is a 6-spot. You select any six of the 80 numbers available in the game. When the game is then played, the bird cage machine draws 20 of the 80 available numbers.

A typical payoff for a $2.00 bet on a 6-spot KENO ticket would run as follows:

0 out of 6 = No Win
1 out of 6 = No Win
2 out of 6 = No Win
3 out of 6 = $2.00
4 out of 6 = $6.00
5 out of 6 = $176.00
6 out of 6 = $3,00.00 (Jackpot)

You can bet more, a $5.00 bet pays a top jackpot of $7,500.00; a bet of $15.00 pays $22,000.00; and so on.

The maximum bet is $70.00! All casinos will allow you to select a single number up to 10 numbers. Some casinos offer 12-, 13-, 14-, 15-, and 16- numbers; however, it is harder to win the jackpot.

VIDEO KENO:

The one on one Electronic version of the game. For those who want to control their Keno action this is the game for you. Feed your quarters into the slot select your numbers and away you go.

The video version of keno is identical to regular keno in most respects. There are eighty numbers to choose from, you can choose as many as you wish up to fifteen and you can bet up the allowable limit of the] machine. An electronic wand allows you to touch the screen on the numbers you wish to play, if you choose a number you didn't want you can cancel it and choose the one you wanted. After your choices are made you activate the machine and watch the numbers being picked. Once you activate the machine just sit back and watch and wait for the results, it pays if you win and keeps if you lose.

Video Keno Strategy There really is no sure strategy in Keno any more than in any other game. Having said that there is an approach you can try, it might be fun and you might even win. I've heard people try it and swear it works, I've tried it and found the results no different than any other method of choosing numbers.

Try this; choose 9 numbers in the upper right hand corner of the screen, 7, 8, 9, 10, 18, 19, 20, 29, 30. Try these numbers eight or ten times if no luck turn them upside down and play the bottom left hand corner. Play 51, 52, 61, 62, 63, 71, 72, 73, 74. Try this about ten times if no winners, your on your own. As the man says, who know, you might get lucky.

WHERE CAN I PLAY KENO? The great thing about Keno is that it is played everywhere. You do not have to go to a casino in order to play.
